Gavin Simms

Board Member

Gavin was a member of the Alternative Investments & Manager Selection Group (AIMS) leadership team in the Asset Management Division of Goldman Sachs until his retirement in 2020. The AIMS Group manages leading private equity, hedge fund, real estate, credit and public equity strategies around the world, investing as a limited partner, secondary-market investor, seed-capital provider, direct company investor, or management company partner. Previously, he was global head of Investment Management Division Strats. Prior to that, Gavin worked in the Securities Division as a Strat in Foreign Exchange, Equities and Credit. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1996 as an associate in J. Aron Currency and Commodities Strategies. Gavin was named managing director in 2003 and partner in 2008. Gavin earned a BSc in Mathematics from Leeds University in 1991 and a PhD in Mathematics at Imperial College, London, in 1995. Gavin and his wife Sarah are proud parents of two children, including their daughter Rosa who has attended The Lang School since 2018.
