As Director of Special Education and Instruction at The Lang School, I bring over a decade of experience in special education, including work as a classroom teacher, curriculum writer, and educational consultant. My time as a teacher at Lang was transformational. It was the first school that truly allowed me to lean into my gift for complex and precise individualized differentiation and acceleration strategies. I take pride in knowing that every student who crosses my path can feel deeply understood, appropriately challenged, and fully supported.
As my classroom work evolved, I found myself coaching fellow teachers, sharing the practices that were successful in my space. This led me to uncover a new passion for instructional leadership, especially when it comes to helping educators sharpen their approach to differentiation, enrichment, and philosophy-driven teaching. My work is grounded in the belief that every student should be met within their zone of proximal development, with just the right balance of support and stretch to help them thrive.
I am committed to building meaningful partnerships with both teachers and families to ensure each student receives what they need to grow. After welcoming my daughter in March 2023, I briefly stepped away from Lang to focus on my family while continuing to consult, write curriculum, and coach teachers. I am excited to return to the Lang community and continue advancing its mission of excellence in supporting twice-exceptional learners.
