Jake Stratton

Physical Education Teacher

BOURNEMOUTH UNIVERSITY - BS, SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY

My name is Jake Stratton, and I’m a Physical Education teacher, soccer coach, and former semi-professional player with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Psychology from Bournemouth University. Growing up in London gave me a love of sport and community, and moving to New York two years ago has given me the chance to share that passion in a new setting. For over seven years, I’ve had the privilege of working internationally in Special Education Needs, supporting students of all abilities and backgrounds.

I love Physical Education and the impact it can have on students, not only during school, but in providing them with a lifelong hobby and sense of participation. I believe there is something for everyone in PE, and it is my job to help students find it, ensuring they live enriched, fulfilled, and healthy lives. Alongside teaching, I’ve also served as an assistant principal, where I learned the importance of strong relationships and a supportive school culture.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing soccer, traveling, trying new foods, and telling awful jokes (the kind that usually get more eye-rolls than laughs). I am very excited to be starting at The Lang School and to become part of their community. Whether I’m coaching on the pitch, leading in the gym, or sharing a laugh with students, my goal is to help young people discover their strengths, build confidence, and enjoy the journey of learning and growth.
