Wendy Rissmeyer
Director of Community Engagement & Stewardship
BROOKLYN COLLEGE - BS, PSYCHOLOGY
As Lang’s Director of Community Engagement & Stewardship, I spend my days connecting with families, alumni, donors, and our wider community, sharing the heart of what makes this place so special, our kids. I get to do what I love most: bringing people together, creating meaningful experiences, celebrating a school shaped around each student’s strengths, needs, humor, and passions, and driving the fundraising that keeps our mission strong. Working here has taught me more than I ever imagined about resilience, authenticity, and the power of a community that truly sees and celebrates every student.
I help make Lang a place where connection thrives, from school-wide events to student-led projects, and I work on initiatives that capture and preserve the moments that matter most. My role brings me into close collaboration with our board, parents, alumni, administrators, faculty, students, and community partners, weaving together relationships that strengthen our mission.
Every day, I bring a willing, positive spirit and a deep love for the people here. I am proud to work alongside such a dedicated, understanding faculty, and I am constantly inspired by our students, extraordinary, authentic young people whose talents and passions make every day at Lang a gift.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is showing others the impact of Lang, the growth, joy, and transformation that happen when students are truly seen and supported.
When I am not at school, you can usually find me walking on the beach with my furbaby Owen, spending time with family and friends, crafting, or planning my next adventure. But no matter where I am, my heart is always with this community and the extraordinary kids who make it what it is.
