GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY- BA IN COMPARATIVE LITERATURE AND MINOR IN ART HISTORY
BROOKLYN COLLEGE - MS ED IN SECONDARY ENGLISH EDUCATION AND TEACHING LITERACY

After an extended writing sabbatical, I am delighted to return to the classroom and join the incredible team at Lang. Reading, writing and language have always been my foremost passions, so I studied comparative literature at Georgetown University, earning a Bachelor of Science and Languages. In 2001, following a stint in advertising, I became a New York City Teaching Fellow, thus beginning my career in education. Through that program, I was awarded a Master’s in Secondary English Education from Brooklyn College, and I also had the privilege of teaching E.L.A. to high schoolers in the D.O.E.’s Alternative Schools District. In 2009, seeking a more comprehensive understanding of literacy development, I joined the faculty of Poly Prep’s Middle School, where I taught English until 2018. Beyond the classroom and all things book-related, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my friends and family, and chasing after our highly-spirited standard poodle, Sirius Black.
