I began my career through the NYC Teaching Fellows in 2005 in the Soundview section of the Bronx. During my time in the NYC Department of Education, I taught grades 3-8 ESL and special education, graduated from the NYC Aspiring Principals Program, and served as an Assistant Principal before relocating to California in 2014 to pursue a career as an independent contractor and consultant. I spent extended time in Mexico while achieving a CELTA certificate before relocating to the middle east for a position as a Director of an international school for the American Curriculum PK-9. I returned to NYC after the pandemic and in 2021 decided to stay, but only if I found a position in a school that matched my philosophy to educate the "whole child" and create unique learning experiences. When I saw Lang's mission, I was compelled to apply. When I realized I would become the Soundview advisor, I knew it was meant to be. I am committed to serving our 2e population and continuing to learn and grow as an educator to best meet the needs of each and every child.
